Aquasana Countertop Drinking Water Filter, AQ-4000P G!veaway @Aquasana

As I’ve shared in the past, I was born on the Oregon Coast and grew up in a town about 30 minutes outside of Portland, an hour from the mountains; skiing or hiking…you take your pick. It was a short drive to the ocean and not far from a plethora of lakes, rivers, and other country side scenic bodies of water adventures.
As a kid I ran for hours on end stopping only for food and water…yes, water!
I loved it straight from the tap, hose, or even the bathroom sink. It was cold, naturally sweet, and free flowing; no one ever said no to a kid asking for a drink of water.
Now fast forward a few light years when I relocated to New Mexico. Roasting green chilies, sunshine in your face, and an abundant supply of water…yucky, nasty, I swear I won’t even brush my teeth with it water.
My days of pure sweet straight from the sink water were over.
I did what any water loving girl would do; I bought it.
Unbeknownst to me I started filling the landfills with gobs and gobs of empty water bottles; I just didn’t think about it. Each day in America over 60 million plastic bottles are produced, filled, transported and disposed of in U.S. landfills from bottled water use.
Okay so fast forward to the part where I start comprehending plastics, recycling, and energy conservation. Envision me and my twenty thousand bags of bottles every week at the recycling center. It wasn’t so bad until the man child and his apprentice discovered their love of water as well.
Well the water lugging is getting too expensive in our house filled with water snobs.
But If you are like me who believe in doing their part for the environment by following the reduce, reuse, recycle mantra then you probably are like many who have begun carrying a water bottle that you can refill…..I’m not filling it with that nasty tap water.
Well unless it’s filtered :0)
Home water filters have gained wide spread popularity in recent years. As the most logical, convenient and economical solution for high-quality water, water filters offer many benefits over tap water and bottled water. Water Filters are also better for our Planet!
In with the bad and out the good.
Water filtration offers higher quality than bottled water and the convenience of tap.  For 10 cents a gallon you can have great-tasting, healthy, chemical-free water for drinking, preparation of beverages and cooking... all at the touch of a button!
We need the essential fluid of water normal function of systems within our bodies but I want it to be in the healthiest and purest form available for my family, that’s why my filtration of choice is the Aquasana Countertop Drinking Water Filter, AQ-4000P, a twin filter system that allows the passage of naturally occurring trace minerals thus ensuring the high quality of the water it produces.

This filter regularly retails for $124.99 but for a limited time is just $87.49 and the original filters included last for six months or filters water up to 500 gallons before needing to be replaced. To make sure that you don’t forget when you need to have the filters replaced, you can avail of their “Water 4 Life” auto-ship program where you will receive fresh new cartridges every six months. It is as good as the original ones and cost $48.00 and at 10 cent a gallon, it’s economical too.
Adding to the savings the Aquasana Countertop Drinking Water Filter, AQ-4000P is super easy to install, rather that re-pipe your kitchen this counter top option works with your existing set up and attaches right to your kitchen faucet.

Plus there are 3 color options for the plastic covering of the system that are neutral enough to match any kitchen décor.

I learned that this filters lead, which I am very worried about in my area. We have a refrigerator pitcher right now, but I know that isn't doing much by way of actually purifying the water.

Prior to chlorination, many major cities had death tolls of 1 in 1000 people from Typhoid alone. (Wow, that is horrible!)

Do you know if it filters out Fluoride? I am concerned about the amount of fluoride in our towns drinking water and thus I am torn between getting an Aquasana or a Crystal Quest Filtering system for my house. I know that Crystal Quest filters out Natural occurring and added Fluoride, however I am unable to find out any information from the Aquasana page if they filter out Fluoride too.
