This is what is left of the boys’ basketball goal……
Jealous?
Don't be, you too can waste a bunch of money on low-grade sporting equipment and let a tornado rip through your yard and tear
it all to pieces.
Then watch as the male gene kicks in and spills out its love of duct
tape all over the place.
Beautiful isn’t it?
What is it about duct tape that attracts the novice and the expert handyman
alike?
When my husband (the engineer) and I first got married I even busted him
trying to attach the hood of his car with the shiny stuff....anything to save a buck huh, babe?
I know that many people will find it hard to believe but duct
tape cannot fix everything!
It didn’t fix his car and well…you see the boys’ basketball
goal.
One good gush of wind and a rainstorm that could float the arc and it’s bye-bye duct tape and hello trashed out yard
ornament.
Peeps I get it, we all wanna save money but we get what we
pay for and the duct tape? it only goes so far.
This spring the boys will be out, duct tape in hand, and at it
again .....trying to resurrect the unsalvageable.
As much fun as it is
to hear their muffled mutters of distain, I gotta put them out of MY misery.
Seriously because following spring is summer break. With summer
break comes what my kids seems to think is my undying need to entertain and
answer their every beck and call.
Ummmm……hate to burst their bubble.
And I would but because of my husband’s clear NBA capabilities (armchair coach is an NBA position, right) and my children’s obvious innate dunking abilities, hoop shop I must!
Now the shopping I have down but there is the small little
snag...... I was born without the basketball chromosome – well any DNA that resembles
anything sports like really, so I rely on the pros to walk me through and by
walk me through I mean totally hold my hand through the entire process.
Hand holding involves a certain level of trust (and a
price match guarantee), I look for reputable pros…here is where I have landed:
Pro Dunk Hoops - A
family-owned company that specializes in designing, manufacturing and
installing premium outdoor basketball goals and has for more than
20years. They offer manufacture-direct savings on all of their
basketball goals including the top customer-rated adjustable, in-ground Pro

Designing, Manufacturing, and Installing Since 1984
Ryan and Keith have over 30 years combined experience, and are always standing by to answer your basketball goal questions.
And since withstanding is what we need, their “built like a tank” reputation, I’m thinking that
maybe we have a chance though tornado season and fierce straight-line winds….with
Basketballgoal buying guideline, even someone with my genetic insufficiencies as can’t
go wrong!
All jokes aside I know I know I’ve bragged before that MUF
(Mr.UnFun) is a volunteer coach at the Y. He’s built a rapport with the kids on
his team and often has them over for a scrimmage….He and they are more than worthy of durable and safe equipment.
All the safety information that Pro Dunks has above and beyond a purchase made
me feel confident that that
when we are ready to buy they’ll help us 100% through the process.
Without the duct tape!

Since I too live in the tornado zone I could benefit from one of these. The last tornado missed our sagging basketball goal but left the trampoline folded like a burrito.
Here's to quality made products.
what is it with men and duct tape? LOL
that basketball net looks amazing! i am going to check out the site right now- it would be so great for the new playground
This has to be on every man's wish list. My grandson wants one, my son and son-in-law wants one. We live in a hurricane zone so we need durable but even if we didn't live here where men are involved. You need durable because of they way they convert back to primates and hang off the hoop and stuff.
Oh my gosh, that is SWEET! I'm in MN and could use something like that especially June-Sept in tornado weather! My boys would LOVE that!
Love that it's so durable i'll have to head over and check out their site.Durabilty is key especially when it's being used and pounded by a ball all the time this would be the lone survivor on the block, all i see is broken back boards and taped ones too lol
I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. From the hubs to my team of budding engineers, what is their favorite "go to" resource? Duct tape! We buy in bulk.
Both the kids love basketball and we have been through our fair share of hoop-catastrophes! Definitely time to invest in more serious equipment with better staying power.
Thank you so much for the introduction! Your take makes me much more confident about a "new to me" company!
Great post! I thought our basketball goal was "indestructible" but after seeing the pics in this post I know better. Those goals are heavy. I had to LOL after your post as I too empathize for the duct tape aka Mr. Fixit's FixIt.
Someone should have taken pity on you a long time ago. That's not right to have to play basketball like that! ;)
Between the 3 boys and my husband this is going to soon become a must have. Are hoop is sort of sad looking now, though still better then yours ;-)
We have been hesitant to purchase a new one because of the weather down here. I will have to let the hubby check this one out
Wow, now that is a nice basketball standard. It would take some pretty heavy winds to knock that thing over.
Now that is one sturdy basketball hoop! We get high winds and storms around here during the winter, so I can see how it would be difficult to keep a standard hoop around without it getting torn apart.
Luckily my boyfriend doesn't have a fetish with duck tape.... however, his daughter is OBSESSED with the new colors and patterned Duck Tape. She makes all kinds of cool stuff!
Our family loves basketball! We have a decent goal, but this one looks great. We could definitely use a goal like this one.
I have wanted to put in a hoop for years but hubby says there isn't enough room :( This looks like an awesome system. Sorry to see what happened to the old one!
