One of the kid’s favorite dinners is breakfast for dinner,
especially if it involves pancakes or waffles. They have become even more
partial since I started making my own buttermilk syrup.
I created my own recipe based on two really good recipes.
One I found in a very old copy of Good Housekeeping and the other on a blog
somewhere in cyber-sphere.
It’s silly easy and so much better than what you’ll find at
the grocer
Buttermilk Syrup
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1 stick of butter
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup corn syrup
Melt everything together in a sauce pan except the baking
soda, stir until everything is has liquefied. Then mix in the baking soda, this
will make it foam up.
Allow to cool slightly and pour over pancakes, waffles, French
toast, pigs in a blanket…whateves, it’s your world :)

I think one of my favorite suppers is when we decide to have breakfast. I always love waffles or pancakes. Thanks for the recipe.
That sounds DE-licious! I love breakfast for dinner too!
YUM! Thanks for the recipe...what about breakfast for late night snack?

One of our children is dairy free. I wonder if I can make the recipe with coconut milk 'soured' with a little vinegar or lemon juice? Sounds good!
Yum! Never thought of making my own syrup! Thanks so much for sharing!
I prefer breakfast food for dinner rather than for breakfast! LOL!
