I think I’ve about plastered my support for children’s
charities all over the place….well, in my own cyber places anyway. I know I
mentioned the annual toy drive that my review items are saved for a few dozen
times, especially around the holidays. And when I don’t have enough review
items or a ton of deniro to chip in, I usually make a Kohl’s run to snatch up
the books and coordinating stuffed animals to supplement my donation.
I’ve gotten some really great items that are crazy popular
with the kiddos. I still get a giggle that I was able to buy up all of the Horton Hears A Who collection…Okay, well
that wasn’t all for charity, I lover Horton and gave him to all my nieces and
nephews and I might have kept one for myself but I really did give away all the
other Dr Seuss critters and the Eric Carle collections….For just $5 bucks each
I couldn’t leave behind a single Brown Bear, kangaroo, spider, or rubber duckie
(though I think I kept one of those too). The kids all love them and they are
of great quality, not the cheapo run of the mill that some companies sell off
in the name of charity.
I already knew that the Kohl’s Cares program gives 100
percent of the net profit from the sale of the featured books and plush toys to
benefit kids’ health and education initiatives in communities nationwide. Since
its inception, Kohl’s has raised more than $180 million to help kids.
But I feel pretty silly that for as long as I have been
shopping at Kohl’s (it is truly my favorite off-line store) and have been
supporting the Kohl’s Cares initiative for children I was oblivious to the rest
of all their works and efforts toward aiding in social change and
responsibility.
Last week I discovered that Kohl’s also supports the fight
against breast cancer with a commitment of $7 million over three years to the
American Cancer Society’s Midwest Division and the Southeast Wisconsin
Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to support breast cancer research,
education and patient-assistance programs. It’s no wonder Kohl’s is my favorite
shopping spot!
A quick click around on their Kohl’s Cares
webpage and I got all excited…I mean, FILA is nothing to shabby! Sunglasses,
fitness gear, duffle bags, ear buds and even a digital watch, all in of course
breast cancer awareness pink and at $5 and $10 they are a steal with a cause!
I ended up picking out a pair of their too cute brown and
pink FILA sunglasses for a fashion statement with a cause.
They are really chic with gold-tone accents, brown arms, the
FILA logo, and pink breast cancer awareness ribbon graphic to help promote the
cause.
Like all of the items up for snags on the page 100% of the net profit
from the sale support the fight against breast cancer….My eye doctor insists
that everyone should wear sunglasses anytime they leave the house, so now I can
follow orders and contribute to breast cancer awareness all in cute summer
fashion.
I’ve got some pre-residency trip shopping to do so I’m
thinking that I may as well pick up the FILA floral tee too....I mean it is after all for charity :o)
These items are available from April 30 through
the end of July at Kohl’s 40 Wisconsin stores and online at WWW.Kohls.Com. With each item costing only $5 and $10
each, 100% of the net profit will go to supporting the fight against breast
cancer!

This is a great way to get some shopping in and support a wonderful cause.
I love that Kohls truly does care
I absolutely love Kohls and how they care for kids. We got an elephant toy there when my son was 2 and it is still his favorite stuffed animal and he is 8 now.
My daughter likes this store and I'll be honest and say I've never shopped there. After reading your review though I can tell I'll have to journey over and go shopping there.
Our local Kohls helped us put on a fashion show at my kids' school a couple of years ago. It was really neat. They donated their time and the outfits to help clothe some very needed kids.
Kohl's is a favorite department store for this Mom! I love that they always offer wonderful titles for charity, right at the front of the store. I love to pick them up for kids in the family or to donate!

I have a giftcard to Kohl's that was a birthday gift, so I'm excited to see things in your post that I want to go buy!
